PocketScan Plus Provides Critical Information
The Check Engine Light appears on the dashboards of all late-model vehicles to signal that there is a possible mechanical or electrical problem that needs to be addressed. The compact and easy-to-use PocketScan Plus attaches to the automobile's OBD-II port, displaying the error code involved on its large, backlit display. Three severity levels tell you at a glance if it safe to continue driving or if immediate repair is needed. The PocketScan Plus also puts you in touch with the emissions status of vehicles and allows you to easily review and erase codes from the automobile.

The PocketScan Plus Can Save You Time and Money
According to a nationwide phone survey, over 20% of all vehicles newer than 12 years old have experienced a Check Engine Light appearance in the past 12 months. That’s 32 million automobiles on the road every year that are signaling for a potentially costly repair. Your time and money are valuable, and the information provided by the PocketScan Plus can save you both by telling you if the Check Engine Light is appearing for a critical reason, or for a less important one.

Be Smarter When You Talk to Your Technician
The PocketScan Plus gives you the information you need before you visit your auto technician. Not only does it provide you with the code for the Check Engine Light, but you also receive access to an online information database that further explains the problem, its severity, possible symptoms, and common causes--all in easy-to-understand terms. Being empowered with this wealth of knowledge enables you to visit your auto technician with confidence.

Easy-to-Use Features and Helpful Customer Support
The PocketScan Plus is compatible with all 1996 and newer vehicles. Once connected, it automatically links to the vehicle computer, displaying both Check Engine Light error codes and severity on its large backlit display. Issue severity is color coded for easy reference: green for no problems present, yellow for non-dangerous issues, orange meaning repair at your earliest convenience, and red for a problem that needs immediate repair. Three large buttons allow you to turn the unit on and off, read current codes, and review and erase past codes from the vehicle's onboard computer. A convenient battery backup saves information in the system, allowing you to continue reviewing codes away from the vehicle.

Actron makes certain that you will always have the information you need when your Check Engine Light appears. Their online database is available 24 hours a day to explain codes as well as their causes, severity, and symptoms. You can also contact their toll free phone number for additional assistance. Furthermore, the PocketScan Plus has a USB port that allows it to be updated from your computer, ensuring that you will always have correct, current information to diagnose the vehicles of today as well as those of the future.
A great solution to provide the DIY'er with an immediate recommendation on the urgency of the Check Engine Light problem. New Urgency Indicators tell how urgent the Check Engine Light problem may be to a vehicle's drivability. In addition to the emissions and MIL status features, PocketScan Plus offers access to dynamic web support information which includes common components, possible symptoms, and common causes related to trouble codes.

Actron CP9145 AutoScanner Diagnostic Code Scanner with Live, Record and Playback Data Capability for OBDII Vehicles

Actron CP9145 AutoScanner Diagnostic Code Scanner with Live, Record and Playback Data Capability for OBDII Vehicles Review

Actron CP9145 AutoScanner Diagnostic Code Scanner with Live, Record and Playback Data Capability for OBDII Vehicles Feature

  • Diagnostic code scanner easily retrieves trouble codes from your vehicle's computer to diagnose problems
  • Enables you to quickly and easily link to your vehicle
  • Large easy-to-read LCD screen displays DTCs and their descriptions; Internet updateable
  • OBD I and OBD II software built in; no additional cartridges to buy
  • Expandable to cover OBD I vehicles with optional cables
Is your car's check engine light on? If it is, your car is trying to tell you something and the Actron CP9145 Super AutoScanner Diagnostic Code Scanner speaks its language. Use this scanner to unlock the information stored in your car's computer. Whenever your check engine light is on, the device can pinpoint the problem so you can fix it fast and be on your way.

The Actron CP9145 easily scans and retrieves DTCs. View details.

The user interface is designed for ease of use and quick control of scanning functions.

Turn off that distracting "check engine" light.
The scanner allows you to easily retrieve, read, and erase OBD II trouble codes, as well as display and read live vehicle data for a faster diagnosis. With optional cables, you can also retrieve OBD I codes and live data for 1984-95 Ford and GM models, and 1989-95 Chrysler models. This sophisticated, yet extremely user-friendly tool includes the CP9145 base unit and can be used on OBD II compliant cars and light trucks sold in the U.S. from 1996 to present. Plus, the tool is fully upgradeable, accommodating future vehicles.

The CP9145 is built tough for both shop and road test use. It also features a large, easy-to-read liquid crystal display that shows the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and their definitions. And although you still have to fix the problem, the scanner will deactivate the "check engine" light on your dash so you'll no longer be distracted while you drive. The scanner is easy to connect to your vehicle, and a user friendly menu provides a variety of information in a snap, including live engine data parameters (PIDs). Built-in help screens help you interpret the data, and you can view freeze frame data, which provides a "snapshot" of the vehicle's operating conditions at the time of the fault. Meanwhile, an internal 9-volt battery stores the latest test results for later review.

Use the Monitor Status and I/M readiness (Inspection/Maintenance) function to determine if your vehicle is ready for an emissions test. I/M Readiness is an excellent function to use prior to having a vehicle inspected for compliance with a state emissions program, so you'll have a good idea if your vehicle will pass the standards.

Another important thing to remember is that all emission testing facilities will fail a vehicle that has the "check engine" light illuminated at the time of the test--even if it is only lit to remind you of a past-due oil change or 60,000-mile tune-up. With this scanner, you can shut off the check engine light and pass the emissions test on your terms.

The menu also alerts you of any pending DTCs and reads the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) status. By reading the MIL status the scanner gives insight into what might cause your "check engine" light to turn on in the near future. In this way, the scanner also provides some preventive measures to help you keep a close eye on your vehicle's systems.

The scanner comes with CD software that contains 5,000 Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and their descriptions.

What's in the Box
Super AutoScanner CP9145, OBD II cable, 8-foot extension cable, manual/CD-ROM with over 5,000 code definitions, and soft carrying case.

Manufacturer Warranty
One-year limited warranty. A bold step forward in DIY diagnostics! The SUPER AutoScanner allows the user to easily retrieve and read OBD II trouble codes and display/read live vehicle data for a faster diagnosis. This sophisticated yet extremely user-friendly tool can be used on OBD II compliant cars and light trucks (foreign and domestic) sold in the U.S. from 1996 to the present. Optional cables add coverage for OBD I 1984-95 Ford and GM models and 1989-95 OBD I Chrysler applications. Includes: SUPER AutoScanner CP9145 Base Unit, OBD II Cable, 8-Foot Extension Cable, Manual/CD-ROM with over 5,000 code definitions and a Soft Carrying Case.

Advanced and Compact OBD-II Diagnostics
Since the 1980's standardized Onboard Diagnostic systems—first OBD-I and currently OBD-II—mandated for virtually all cars and light trucks have provided automotive technicians with insight into the increasingly complex inner workings of modern passenger vehicles. On the other hand, most consumers are totally unaware of these systems, with the only indication that there may be a problem with their vehicle coming to their attention when "check engine"/malfunction indicator light (MIL) is illuminated on the dashboard. Professional technicians utilize large, expensive diagnostic tools to translate the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) generated by the internal computer networks of in your vehicle in these events. The cost for this is passed on to you by your mechanic whether you understand the reason/mechanism or not, but entry-level do-it-yourselfers (DIY) do not have to be left in the dark.

The Actron CP9190 OBD II/I Elite AutoScanner Pro Diagnostic Code Scanner is an enhanced scan tool that is loaded with many professional features. If you are new to diagnostic scanners, this handy tool connects to your vehicle, scans various parts of your car, truck or SUV, and retrieves a list of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and code definitions from your vehicle's computer. But even if you're a veteran to scanners and auto repair, you'll be impressed with the new functionality that Actron has added to the CP9190. This device not only scans your vehicle, it also allows you to freeze-frame live timing and pinpoint your vehicle's problem. Instead of having to recreate a scenario over and over again, you can now playback the timing to scrutinize all the data and make a clear diagnosis. Combine this with Internet connectivity and the ability to interface with a PC, and you have a powerful, professional diagnostic scanner in the palm of your hand. Like its little brother, the Actron CP9180, the CP9190 is compatible with all OBD II (On-Board Diagnosis II) compliant vehicles manufactured in North America, Asia, and Europe from 1996 to the present, but the Elite AutoScanner goes a step further and is even compatible with certain pre-1996 GM, Ford, and Chrysler vehicles.

This assures a fast and accurate diagnostic output -- a key ingredient to an effective repair.

The CP9190 is simple and easy to use. The included OBD I/II cables provide both data and power connections, while the USB cable offers a quick and easy way to connect your scanner to your PC. In addition to connecting to the computer for Internet updates, you'll also appreciate the CP9190's USB connectivity because it makes printing DTCs and other information a breeze. Once the scanner is connected to your vehicle, the user friendly menu provides a variety of information in a snap. This device displays OBD II enhanced functionality with graph data (1996 and newer), O2 monitor tests, state emissions, and even reads, records and displays live sensor data so you know what's happening with your vehicle as you make adjustments. Other features include an OBD II code library built right into the tool, an OBD II drive cycle mode, battery power so you can review diagnostic data even when the scanner is disconnected from your vehicle, and a trilingual (English, Spanish, French) mode.

Another important thing to remember is that all emission testing facilities will fail a vehicle that has the "check engine" light illuminated at the time of the test -- even if it is only lit to remind you of a past-due oil change or 60,000-mile tune-up. In this way, the scanner also provides some preventive measures to help you keep a close eye on your vehicle's systems. These functions, combined with the simple keypad used to read, erase, and navigate DTCs, make the CP9180 scanner a perfect solution for identifying problems with your vehicle and keeping you safe on the road.
